Our lives are so focused on searching, searching for truth, love, friendship, work, joy, freedom, and so much more. We may be looking for the best route to becoming the healthy you, or how to be the most productive you at work and in life, but with all these lofty goals, which may be good, our sight and paths have become crowded. Crowded with all good things, but forgetting the key to all happiness in life. The Bible tells us to seek the Lord with all our heart, and if we seek Him with our heart we will find Him.
(Jeremiah 29:13) “You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.” (Luke 11:9b) “Seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.”
So, can I ask? Are we seeking the Lord with our whole heart? Are we knocking each and everyday on the door through prayer and supplication to have the Lord rule, and reign in our lives? Theologian and author, C.S. Lewis, said this about seeking God: “Look for Christ and you will find Him. And with Him everything else.” So once we find Him, and let Him reign in our minds and hearts, everything that we worry about will come to rest. And everything we are searching for that is good and holy will be found. In the book of Amos 5:4 it says “Seek me and live;..” Do you desire to live? Then seek Him!
Now I’m not saying if you seek Him all of your biggest dreams and desires will be granted right away, but I am trying to say that God, in due season, and as He sees fit, will bless you, and help you to live. So, my challenge for all my friends is this: This week let’s seek the Lord with all our hearts and live.
One of the greatest ways we can guard our hearts and minds against temptation is to be contented with what God has given to us. When you are content with what you have, how then is Satan to tempt you with what you don’t have? You are content, you have no need for the other things of this world, even if they be good and wonderful things. We rest in knowing that God has given us what He sees fit, and until He changes what that is, it is best for us. We should want for nothing but what God grants to us on a daily basis.
“God does not dwell in spirits that are in confusion, but He dwells in peaceable and quiet spirits. Oh, if you would free yourselves from temptations, labour for contentment.” It is the peace of God that guards the heart from temptation.”

“Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.” ~Hebrews 13:5
“But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” ~Philippians 4:20
“Temptations will no more prevail over a contented man, than a dart that is thrown against a brazen wall.” ~The Rare Jewel of Christian Contentment
I believe in Christ like I believe in the sun. Not because I can see it, but by it I can see everything else.
